Create your own beach-inspired lanterns

Make your garden glow in minutes with a beach-inspired lantern (or two)

**DO IT YOURSELF** **1.** Choose a simple planter (we like the warm wood and cool metal strapping of this one) and place a plastic bucket turned upside-down inside.

**2.** Sit a candle in a hurricane vase on the base of the plastic bucket. **3.** Surround the vase with river rocks, making sure to completely cover the plastic bucket. (Here, the large stones contrast nicely with the patio’s small gravel.) **4.** Light the candle, grab a cocktail and enjoy your masterpiece. **WHAT IT COST** Tistelö tub, $30, Ikea; hurricane vase, $27, Pier 1 Imports; stones, $6 per bag, The Home Depot; pillar candle, $8, Loblaws. **TIP:** Having a party? For eye-catching appeal, line several of these lanterns along your walkway.
