Creating botanical greeting cards

Use these classic cards as gift tags, thank-you notes or seasonal invitations

**1.** Collect interesting leaves and foliage in your yard or a nearby park. Dry leaves by sandwiching them between two pieces of wax paper, and pressing them in a heavy book for at least 24 hours. **2.** Take sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 inch medium-to-heavy card stock (available at most stationery or craft stores) and fold them in half. You can also recycle gift wrap or gift bags to create earth-friendly cards. We recommend choosing rich neutrals that play up the foliage.

**3.** Apply a light layer of spray adhesive to the underside of the pressed, dry leaf and carefully lay it on the front of your card. Create a collage of small leaves, or simply centre one large leaf on the page. **4.** Press card under a stack of heavy books for at least 24 hours. **TIP:** Before sending, sprinkle coarsely ground cloves or cinnamon in the envelope to greet the recipient with a warm scent of spice.
