Fresh ranunculus centrepiece
A step-by-step guide to turning Persian buttercup blooms into a conversation piece
Like a tutu atop the strong, lithe legs of a prima ballerina, the multi-petalled blooms of ranunculus (or Persian buttercup) capture the imagination.
These tender tubers are often found as cut flowers or potted annuals at the flower shop, nursery or corner store (as garden plants, they are best suited for Zone 7 and warmer). Put a twist on a pretty centrepiece by
1. Tucking a variegated table fern (*Pteris cretica* ‘Albo-lineata’) and baby’s tears (*Helxine soleirolii*) around a collection of deliciously coloured Tecolote ranunculuses.
2. Use a simple, white oversized pasta bowl with a layer of gravel for drainage and good potting soil.
Voila! You have a fresh and elegant display ready to dress any table.
