Shakespeare can be enjoyed at various locations across Canada. Here are a few but be sure to check what’s happening in your local parks
Vancouver’s **Bard on the Beach**, running from May 29 to September 27, takes place in a tented setting in Vanier Park. Enjoy your picnic in the park before attending the show. bardonthebeach.org
Calgary’s Mount Royal College and Prince’s Island Park offer **Shakespeare in the Park**. This free summer festival is an ideal location to have a picnic with the Bard. mtroyal.ab.ca/sitp
**River City Shakespeare Festival** at the Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park in Edmonton offers shows in June and July. rivercityshakespeare.com
Saskatoon’s **Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan**, July 2 to August 10, is an award-winning festival presented in a tented theatre. shakespeareonthesaskatchewan.com
One of Canada’s best-known festivals is **The Stratford Shakespeare Festival** in Stratford, Ont. Enjoy a picnic upon the banks of the Avon River and listen to live summer music concerts as you dine. stratfordfestival.ca
Toronto’s High Park hosts **The Dream in High Park** running throughout the summer months. canstage.com
Ottawa offers **Torchlight Shakespeare** in various parks throughout the summer evenings. fools.ca
