Spring fling

Add a touch of spring to your get-togethers with this simple daffodil decor idea

Select an assortment of fresh-cut daffodils. Place a piece of moistened floral oasis inside a small, lightweight container to secure stems. When choosing a container, look for one that has a handle or slotted opening. Using a wide ribbon in a complementary colour, pass it through the handle or slot and hang the arrangement on the back of a chair. Create one for each of your guests—they make charming take-home gifts, too!

**Tip:** For a long-lasting cut daffodils, cut an inch off the bottom of stem ends and always use cool water. Daffodils release a sap containing calcium oxalate that will clog the stems of other flowers, so either display them solo or place them in tepid water overnight before putting them in a mixed arrangement. Kept cool and out of direct sunlight, they will last for about a week.
