##Around town## **Mosaic Magic** Mosaiculture, also called carpet bedding, describes the technique of creating raised, or even three-dimensional, pictures, objects or lettering with different-coloured foliage and blooms. Wire structures, as tall as six feet or more, are studded with a mosaic of plants, growing in special bedding materials. Quebec City was resplendent with these inventive 3-D floral sculptures this summer—many paying homage to its history. Designed by city parks technicians and gardeners, and looking like giant floral parade floats, the unique installations are a treat for the eye as well as the mind. They will remain at various locations throughout the city until later this fall. **A mosaiculture called Tools of the Gardener symbolizes Quebec’s growing gardening industry.**
