A Cozy Outdoor Dinner Setting

Interior designer Suzanne Dimma turns a side yard into an inviting dinner party setting

Living in a big city often means smaller properties and less outdoor space. But even if you’re lacking a big backyard, and a large patio seems more like a pipe dream, you don’t need to give up on alfresco dining altogether. With a bit of ingenuity, any unused space can be transformed into an intimate area suitable for entertaining. So tour around your house, pick a forgotten nook, create some privacy by installing drapery around a tiny porch or planting hedging along a small front lawn. Then take your cue from this side-yard setting put together by *The Style Dept.*’s Suzanne Dimma, and set up a fabulous entertaining spot you can dine out on! **An outdoor nook is transformed into an alfresco entertaining spot. Perforated lanterns create dappled light and complement the subtle Moroccan flavour, which is carried throughout the decor via the patterned fabric, elegant dinnerware and muted palette.**
