How to Overwinter Potted Plants

Toronto gardener Barry Parker shows how his mini landscapes survive old man winter

Parker uses a commercially designed cold frame, six by four feet in size, which has a metal framework covered by a plastic tent with zippered openings on two sides. Although many alpine plants could survive uncovered, Parker finds they bounce back more quickly and look good sooner in spring when covered.
