Luxury suite

The livin’ is easy in a series of stunning outdoor rooms that mesh the old with the new Photos by Angus McRitchie; Styling by Beth Gold

“The owner spends a lot of time travelling, so when she’s home she likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible,” explains Webster. Even on cool October nights, she can be found reading a book or chatting with guests in her covered living room with the curtain flaps pulled tight and the two outdoor heaters ablaze. Webster’s design also takes into account the homeowner’s penchant for mixing and matching traditional and modern styles. Sleek zinc urns topped with boxwood mingle with classic stone urns dripping with petunias and multi-coloured foliage plants. Rustic, dry-laid silica stone walls contrast with ultra-smooth stone steps, and an airy, lattice fence flatters chunky, contemporary, resin wicker furniture. The end effect is not just pretty in pink (one of the owner’s favourite colours), but spectacular in any season for all kinds of outdoor living. **Floating roses make a charming table centrepiece.**
