**Sugar maple**
*Acer saccharum* The classic maple (it’s the leaf on our flag). Yellow to orange-red fall colour. Yields maple syrup. Very slow-growing. Oval shape. Height: 75 to 100 feet. Spread: 50 to 65 feet. Zone 3.
