Potted oasis

A Toronto couple uses a host of fabulous plants to create a heavenly container garden Photos by Laura Arsie

Ask Toronto gardeners Paul Zammit and Uli Havermann how many containers they own and they look at each other and surmise, um, hundreds, maybe thousands. Is this a burden? Not for one minute. These two are not only passionate container connoisseurs, but also plant mavens—a match made in horticultural heaven. One of Paul Zammit and Uli Havermann’s stunning containers features Kalanchoe beharensis at the top, surrounded by K. tomentosa, orchid cactus, Echeveria ‘Perle von Nurnberg’ and variegated sedum.
