Shear delight

The cutting gardens at her weekend retreat provide Viki Mansell with an abundance of colourful blooms for her sumptuous bouquets Photos by Edward Pond; Produced by Sasha Seymour

When it comes to summer weekends in Ontario’s cottage country, you won’t find Viki Mansell sunbathing on a dock. “I’m not a big lie-around-and-relax person,” she says. “So when people come to visit and ask, ‘Who does all the gardening?’ Well, that would be me!” Looking at the two-acre Muskoka property, which Mansell and her husband, Kevin Keeley, have owned for 20 years, you can see why guests would wonder if she had help. **A bouquet of mock orange branches in a tall cylindrical vase adds fragrance and simple charm to the entryway.**
