## Japanese maple (Acer palmatum)
Shrub or small tree, ranging in height from five to 25 feet depending on the cultivar. Part shade. Zone 6.
**Spring:** Unfurling foliage is silver, red and/or green.
**Summer:** Huge variety of leaf colours (maroon, crimson, gold, green, pink and cream) and textures (from thread-like to fan-shaped).
**Fall:** Brilliant red, orange or yellow colour.
**Winter:** Colourful bark; horizontal or cascading branching pattern.
