**CROWN JEWELS** Named for 18th-century Spanish botanical artist Atanasio Echeverría, the ***Echeveria*** genus includes more than 150 species native to Mexico and northern South America. Their fleshy leaves come in many hues including pastel shades of blue, silvery green, pink, purple and red. ***Echeveria nudulosa*** - A fast-growing shrub-like plant with purple stripes on its grey-green leaves.
