Sissinghurst

Last August I visited the gardens of Sissinghurst in England (in the countryside of Kent) and fell in love with this spot at the entrance into the South Cottage where both Vita and Harold had their bedrooms. The citrusy colours of the tall spiky Canna 'Assaut' and the bright yellow dwarf bamboo against weathered silver wood and a random flagstone path work beautifully together. If you like this look, remember that Bamboo can be very invasive so consider putting it in a pot or use Golden Japanese Forest Grass (Hakonechloa macra) instead.
